Tibet Sightseeing and Astronomy Tour 2026

Organised by Galaxy Scientific Group for APRIM2026

Introduction

The tour begins in Lhasa, the heart of Tibet, where you will explore the city's historical and cultural landmarks, including Potala Palace and more. From here you will travel beyond the city, staying in traditional dwellings by Yamdrok Lake to immerse yourself in Tibetan culture and explore astronomical observation & photography using large-aperture telescopes—capturing star trails and deep-sky objects like nebulae and star clusters.

The journey continues to Shigatse City and Mount Everest Base Camp, traversing diverse natural landscapes and cultural relics along the way. Settling in guesthouses at Everest Base Camp, you will enjoy views of sunrise and sunset with panoramic vistas of Mount Everest and majestic natural scenery. The nights offer opportunities to marvel at the beauty of the starry sky above the pristine Himalayan air.

We can offer customised arrangements tailored to specific needs. For more details, please contact Galaxy Scientific Group via WhatsApp (+852 9811 9630) or email ([email protected]).

In 2010, Savio Fong established Tibet’s first professional observatory on the plateau for National Taiwan University atop a 5,100-meter peak near the Kashmir border in Tibet's western frontier—then the world's fifth-highest observatory. The following year, he also established Tibet’s first personal observatory at 4,300 meters, equipped with a 0.5m reflector.  Over the past two decades, he has established numerous observatories and planetarium facilities for governments and scientific/educational institutions across Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.
